Incorporating my love of botanics into my textile work, I use only high quality tried and tested natural dye blends to create unique and vivid colours. I choose my fabrics carefully, incorporating alternative fibres such as bamboo and biodegradable Tencel as well as silk and linen. The ribbons are held on windfall wooden spools cut by me in my garden in Hexham, Northumberland and delivered wrapped in recycled paper. Where possible, I will deliver ribbons myself using public transport.

Ribbons are available on spools up to 10 metres. To discuss custom lengths, widths or colours please send me an email.

About me

maisie_32.JPG

I’m a Northumberland based dressmaker. I incorporate sustainability into my work through my interest in traditional techniques that allow me to use materials I can collect myself, whether that’s harvesting wood for making printing blocks, weaving fabric, using natural dyes or hand sewing. I love to work on my feet and feel my happiest when my Hexham based home studio is filled with many projects at once. My work is rooted in stories. I am particularly interested in early texts such as Beowulf, which represents a time where science and lore, reality and magic were perceived as equally real. For as long as I can remember I have loved textiles and fashion, and create the ‘cake shop window’ feeling as often as I can for myself through surrounding myself with array of rich colours, textures and shapes.
